How will my UK credit card application be judged?

When making a UK credit card application you will be asked a number of questions and pretty much every single one will have some bearing on whether your application is accepted or not. In addition to the information that you provide about yourself with your UK credit card application, credit card providers will also use credit reference agencies in order to assess the risk that you represent as a customer. Credit reference agencies will provide the credit card provider with an individually prepared credit report which will enable them to come to decision about whether or not to take you on as a customer.

Remember, when making an application that every credit card company will have different criteria for selection. If you are rejected by one provider then it does not necessarily mean that you will be refused by another. Similarly, if you have a bad credit history then it does not mean that you will not be able to get a card through an alternative provider.
